Your first look at the course
Before we build anything, you need to know where you are going. This session is a guided tour of the whole curriculum — what you will build, what tools you will use, and how each 90-minute session works.
- Open curriculum.32dots.de in your browser.
- Look at the list of chapters on the home page. Count how many there are.
- Click into Chapter 1 (Getting Started). Read the card titles.
- Click on card 01 (Your first AI agent). Read the USE section header.
- Notice the three coloured sections: green USE, blue UNDERSTAND, orange BUILD. Every card follows this pattern.
- Come back to this card (00) and keep it open — we will refer to it during today's discussion.
Done-Signal: You can describe what the three phases are and name at least two tools you will use in this course.

How this course works
This is a design course disguised as an AI course. We teach you to build real systems, not to understand theory. Every session follows the same three moves.
🟢 USE
Run first
You open a working example and interact with it before any explanation. This gives you a concrete anchor for everything that follows.
🔵 UNDERSTAND
Look inside
You inspect the workflow, identify the components, and answer questions about what each part does. Explanation comes after experience.
🟠 BUILD
Make it yours
You modify or extend the example. The deliverable is something you can show, not just something you ran.
Most AI courses teach concepts and then hope you can apply them. This course inverts that. You will always touch the system before you understand it — because confusion after experience is productive, confusion before experience is just noise.

Map your learning goals
The best way to get value from this course is to connect it to something you actually want to build.
Aufgabe: Write a one-paragraph description of a scientific or research process you would like to automate or assist with AI.
- Open a text editor or notebook.
- Describe the process: what data comes in, what decisions or transformations happen, what comes out.
- Name one part of that process that is currently slow, repetitive, or error-prone.
- Share your paragraph with the class in today's session.
Deliverable: A one-paragraph problem statement shared with the class.
